Nestled in the heart of Montreal, Terrasse Teranga is much more than a rooftop: it’s an invitation to travel, an immersion in the flavors, colors and soul of West Africa.

“Terangain Wolof, means hospitality, sharing, human warmth. It’s a philosophy that guides our every gesture. More than just a word, teranga is a true culture: one of welcoming others as kings, of making every meal a celebration, and of creating bonds around the table.

Founded in 2021, in downtown Montreal, Terrasse Teranga is much more than just a rooftop: it’s a sensory stopover, an invitation to discover the warm soul of West Africa through its flavors, colors and spirit of conviviality.

Behind this project is Coumba Ngom, a woman of heart and vision. Of Senegalese origin, with a passion for gastronomy and world cultures, she has shaped her art through her travels, languages and encounters. Polyglot and cosmopolitan, she embodies the openness to the world that permeates every corner of Terrasse Teranga.

“Teranga”, in Wolof, evokes much more than hospitality: it’s a true art of living, made up of generosity, human warmth and sharing. This philosophy is the soul of our house. Here, every dish tells a story, every welcome is a promise, every moment spent at table becomes a memory.
