Jean Jean Roosevelt
His music draws on multi-ethnic influences, marked by a cultural melting pot that has existed on the island since the slave trade. This has fostered the emergence of a rich, plural identity. It is in this melting pot that Jean Jean Roosevelt is now experimenting with a style of his own called tchyaka (the Haitian word for blend). His music is a blend of Creole rhythms: nago, ibo, yanvalou, Djouba, kongo, rabòday, etc., and influences from reggae, RnB and more.
His songs are in French, but also in Creole. There are also snatches of African and English languages.
Jean Jean Roosevelt has a rich repertoire, with some forty titles tackling universal subjects such as the Environment, Women’s Rights, Children’s Rights, Perseverance, Civic-mindedness, Solidarity, Love and so on. Her songs are in French, but also in Creole. Some of them include snatches of African languages and English.
His melodies and his mix of heart-rending rhythms bring pleasure to music lovers of all kinds (children, young people and adults). And with Jean Jean Roosevelt’s strong stage presence and live show, you’re guaranteed to have a great time.
